After swapping victories in the first two heats, Charl Arangies (Stradale Motorsport Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO) won the final heat to take overall victory after rival Jonathan du Toit (Trans Africa Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO) suffered a puncture in the fourth round of the 2025 Extreme Supercars driven by Dunlop championship held on 12 and 13 September at Cape Town’s Killarney International Raceway. Ricky Giannoccaro (G&H Transport Lamborghini Huracan GT3) and Charl Visser (Charl Engineering Porsche GT3) joined Arangies on the overall podium.
Qualifying took place on Friday afternoon, with clear skies but a strong wind. The wind didn’t worry du Toit, who claimed pole position just over a tenth of a second ahead of fellow GT3 class driver, Arangies. Cape Town drivers Marcel Angel (Autohaus Angel Ferrari GT3) and Visser occupied the second row of the grid in their Class A cars, with late entry Paul Hill (Promigen Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo) in fifth alongside Ricky Giannoccaro (G&H Transport Lamborghini Huracan GT3). Gianni Giannoccaro (Sparco/BISC Transport Nissan GTR R35 GT3) and Marius Jackson (MJR Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT3) filled the fourth row of the grid ahead of Class B rivals Mike Verrier (NDT Racing BMW Z4M) and Ant Blunden (G&H Transport/ SAJCO Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo), who rounded out the top ten. A bit further down the grid, Yanni Hatzi (Nissan S14) led the Class C pack, while Wayne Hoffman (Hoffman Property Group Porsche GT3) topped Class D.
The Extreme SuperCars Diven by Dunlop kicked off the day’s racing action shortly before 10am on Saturday morning. Arangies got the drop on du Toit at the start and, although du Toit threw everything he has at the Mercedes, Arangies was able to hang on and take the win by just over three-tenths of a second.

Behind the leading duo, the Class A fight was lead by the locals with Visser ahead of Angel after Visser powered his Porsche past the Ferrari on the opening lap. Visser slowly opened the gap to Angel and took third overall and the Class A win by just under three seconds. Hill, Ricky Giannoccaro and Jackson followed in quick succession, with Gianni Giannoccaro, the third GT3 class car in eighth. Verrier, in ninth overall, took the Class B win from Blunden. Class C went to Hatzi, while Jimmy Giannoccaro (G&H Transport Audi R8 GT4) took Class D after Hoffman was bumped up to Class C after breaking out of the Class D time.
In the second race, there was no touching du Toit. He grabbed the lead from he start and slowly pulled away from Arangies to take a seven-second win. Angel did not make it to the start of the second heat so the Class A battle behind Arangies was between Visser and Ricky Giannoccaro, with Hill in the mix until half-distance when his Audi cried enough. Visser took another overall podium and Class A win ahead of Ricky. Gianni Giannoccaro crossed the line in fifth place to take third in GT3 ahead of Jackson who claimed the final step of the podium in Class A. Seventh an eighth were occupied by the Class B pair, with Verrier again ahead of Blunden. Class C went to Hatzi with Richard de Roos (Porsche) claiming Class D.
It looked like du Toit was going to run away with the third heat after taking the lead from the start, but a puncture just after starting the penultimate lap put paid to his chances and handed Arangies his second heat win of the day Du Toit was eventually classified in tenth. Behind him, Ricky Giannoccaro led the Class A charge, from Visser, but Visser was later handed a 15-second penalty for a jump start which dropped him down to fifth place and third in Class A. Visser’s misfortune moved Gianni Giannoccaro up to third place, and with it, second in GT3 and ahead of Jackson who got second in Class A.
Verrier, in sixth, again got the better of Blunden to take Class B. Weylin Volschenk (IMC-SA Porsche 997.1 Cup) crossed the line in eighth to take Class C ahead of Hoffman.

In the day’s overall standings, Arangies claimed the GT3 class win from Gianni Giannoccaro. Gianni’s brother Ricky took the top step of the Class A podium alongside Visser and Jackson, while Verrier claimed Class B from Blunden. Class C went to Volschenk from Yatzi and Hoffman, while Jimmy Giannoccaro took Class D from de Roos and Jan Greef (Nissan 350Z).
The Extreme Supercars, driven by Dunlop, return to Zwartkops Raceway for the final round of their 2025 championship on 24 and 25 October.
