The Extreme SuperCars, driven by Dunlop competitors make their way down to the fairest Cape for the opening round of the 2026 season, which takes place at Killarney International Raceway on 13 and 14 March.

The fight at the front of the field is likely to be between the two GT3 contenders, Jonathan du Toit (Trans Africa Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo) and Charl Arangies (Stradale Motorsport Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO), as it was in September last year when the series last visited the Cape Town circuit. On that occasion, Arangies came out on top, although du Toit went on to win the championship.
There are four cars set to line up in Class A. Brothers Ricky (G&H Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3) and Gianni Giannoccaro (Sparco / G&H Transport Audi R8 GT3 LMS) will take on local man Charl Visser (Charl Engineering Porsche GT3 4l) and Marius Jackson (MJR Motorsport Audi R8 GT3 LMS). Ricky won the Class A championship last year, but anything could happen in the new season.

Another quartet of drivers will contest Class B. Ant Blunden (G&H Racing Lamborghini Huracan Trofeo) will take on Roy Obery (Stradale Motorsport (Porsche GT3 Cup MR) and Maarten Prins (Motul Porsche 3.8L), while last year’s Class C winner moves up a class in his Nismo GTR GT3.
A bit further back, Capetonians Weylin Volschenk (IMC-SA Porsche 997.11 Cup) and Yanni Hatzi (Nissan SX 200) will contest Class C, while Uli Sanne (G&H Racing BMW Z4M) will be in Class D.
The drivers will have three practice sessions on Friday to shake off the off-season rust, before tackling a qualifying session late on Friday afternoon. Saturday will see three races, all over 12 laps. The first will get the day’s racing underway at 09:50, with the second at third to follow at 12:30 and 16:10 respectively.
Tickets will be available at the Killarney gates, but for those who cannot make it, the entire day’s racing will be livestreamed on the Extreme Festival website.
