The Extreme SuperCars Driven by Dunlop competitors complete a trio if coastal races when they head for Killarney International Raceway in Cape Town for the seventh round of the 2024 championship on 20 & 21 September.
The fight for the overall championship has turned into a three-way battle with Arnold Neveling (GOSCOR Lift Trucks / Bobcat Audi R8 LMS GT3) holding a three-point advantage over Jonathan du Toit (Trans Africa Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO), with Stuart White (Into Africa Racing / Sparco / Wurth SA Lamborghini Huracan) a further 14 points back.
Neveling and White are unlikely to have things all their way at the head of the Class A+ field. The return of Franco Scribante (Scribante Racing Porsche 997), who is making his first appearance in the series since April, will surely add fire to the fight for overall honours. They will be joined in Class A+ by Xolile Letlaka, in the second Into Africa Racing / Sparco / Wurth SA Lamborghini Huracan, Marius Jackson (MJR Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT3), Dawie Joubert in the fast but fragile Wildrose Gin / Rembrandt Racing Lotus Exige and Imaad Modack (MIM Carriers Porsche GT2R).
Unless something dramatic happens in the year’s final two events, du Toit is almost certainly going to claim the GT3 championship. He has a 55-point advantage over Gianni Giannoccaro (BISC Transport / Stradale Motorsport Nismo GTR). Gqeberha resident Silvio Scribante (Cemza & Scribante Concrete Lamborghini Huracan) will join them in the GT3 class.
Charl Arangies (Stradale Motorsport / PAGID Porsche 991 GT3) leads the way in Class A. He will have to fight off the attention of the G&H Transport McLarens piloted by Ricky Giannoccaro and Ant Blunden to extend his championship lead.
In Class C regular contender Jimmy Giannoccaro (G&H Transport Audi R8 GT4) will be joined by a trio of local BMWs. Mike Verrier (NDT Racing BMW Z4), Marco Retter (Progress Precision Engineering BMW E46) and Renzo Torrente (ATM Chiptuning / Archive Automotive BMW M4) all scored points when the series visited the circuit back in March.
The drivers will have four practice sessions on Friday before they tackle the qualifying session at 09h10 on Saturday morning. They will have two 12-lap heats on Saturday afternoon, the first at 12h10 with heat two scheduled for 14h50. Both races will be live-streamed on https://extremefestival.co.za/live/
