Extreme SuperCars Driven by Dunlop

South Africa’s fastest circuit racing cars will make their way to the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit for the third round of the 2024 Extreme SuperCars driven by Dunlop championship between 11 and 13 April.

Franco Scribante (Scribante Racing Porsche 997), who has been stunningly quick at both earlier rounds, is a name that sparks anticipation. Despite facing mechanical gremlins, he is a force to be reckoned with, currently lying third in the overall standings. Jonathan du Toit (Trans Africa Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO) and Arnold Neveling (GOSCOR Lift Trucks / Stradale Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT3) occupy the top two spots in the overall standings, setting the stage for an intense competition.

Franco Scribante

At Kyalami, the battle for Class A+ points will be fierce. Franco Scribante will again be at the head of the field, but he will have to contend with the hugely experienced Stuart White (Into Africa Racing / Sparco / Wurth SA Lamborghini Huracan). White, who romped to a first-heat win at Killarney last time out, had no answer to Scribante’s pace in the next two and had to settle for second. The competition includes Aldo Scribante (Scribante Concrete Lamborghini Huracan) and Xolile Letlaka (Into Africa Racing / Wurth SA Lamborghini Huracan), who are second and third in the Class A+ championship standings, and Marius Jackson, who will be out in the MJR Motorsport Audi R8 for the first time this year.

Jonathan du Toit

This year, Jonathan du Toit has only been beaten once in the GT3 class. This was in the final heat at the last round in Cape Town by Neveling. The pair should again be fighting for class honours, although Silvio Scribante (Cemza & Scribante Concrete Lamborghini Huracan) and Gianni Giannoccaro (Stradale Motorsport / BISC Transport Nismo GTR GT3) will be looking to add to their points tallies. 2023 champion Charl Arangies, who competed in Class A driving a Lamborghini Gallardo at Killarney, will be back in his Stradale Motorsport Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO and could upset the regular running order.

Ricky Giannoccaro

Class A looks like it will be a straight fight between Ricky Giannoccaro (G&H Transport / ITRE Cugini Logistics Lamborghini Huracan) and Kris Budnick (Bucketlist racing Dodge Viper), while Ant Blunden (SAJCO / GSP CV Joints Porsche 991 GT3 Cup), Nicky Dicks (Curvent Racing Porsche GT3 Cup) and Mark du Toit (Trans Africa Racing Ferrari F430) will contest Class B. Jimmy Giannoccaro will be out for the second time in his G&H Transport Audi R8 GT4 LMS for the second time in Class C.

Anthony Blunden

Practice sessions on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning will prepare the drivers for the qualifying session on Friday afternoon. The two races will take place on Saturday at 11h15 and 15h25.

Spectator tickets can be purchased from Computicket.
