Charl Arangies (Stradale Motorsport Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO) made his way to Gqeberha sitting in third place on the 2026 Extreme SuperCars driven by Dunlop championship log. By the time he left the Aldo Scribante circuit on Saturday, 27 June, he topped the table after taking pole position and all three race wins.

During Friday’s practice sessions, Arangies signalled his intentions for the weekend when he set the fastest lap, the only driver to break the one-minute barrier, before heading into qualifying late on Friday afternoon. Both defending champion Jonathan du Toit (Trans Africa Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO) and Damian Hammond (Liqui Moly Mercedes AMG GT3) were not far behind, with times just over a minute.
In Class A, Karah Hill (Promigen Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO) set the quickest time before qualifying, just over two-tenths quicker than Marius Jackson. Unfortunately for Jackson, he would take no further part in the weekend’s on-track activities after the gearbox in his MJR Motorsport Audi R8 GT3 LMS cried enough in the second session of the day. Karah’s Dad, Paul, out for the first time in a long while in his Kalex Aston Martin, was not far off the pace.
Arangies found more pace in qualifying, dipping into the 58s around the 2.48 km circuit, to take pole position from du Toit and Hammond, who were both in the 59s. Paul Hill claimed Class A honours by two-tenths from his daughter, with newcomer Viven Howell (Stradale Motorsport Porsche GT3 Cup MR) the only Class B competitor in sixth.
In Saturday morning’s first race, Arangies grabbed the lead from pole position and was never seriously challenged on his way to victory. While du Toit was never more than a couple of car lengths behind the Mercedes, he could not find a way past and had to settle for second place. Hammond ran with the leaders in the early stages of the 12-lap race, but slowly dropped back to take a slightly lonely third place, both on the road and in the GT3 class. Paul and Karah Hill had a race-long scrap that ended with Paul just over a tenth of a second ahead of Karah to take fourth place and the Class A win. Howell ended in sixth.
Hammond and du Toit had a tussle for the runners-up spot in the second race that allowed Arangies to open a gap at the head of the field. He went on to take another win, just over three seconds ahead of Hammond, who got the better of du Toit. In Class A, Karah got the better of her dad to cross the line in fourth and leading Class A, but a post-race penalty for a jump start infringement dropped her behind Paul, who took his second Class A win of the day. Howell took another sixth place and Class B win.

In the final heat of the day, Arangies again led the way from pole position. The trio of GT3 cars were closely matched early in the race, but Arangies slowly opened a gap over the rest to take a hat-trick of wins on the day. Du Toit finished just over two seconds behind, with Hammond in a distant third place. Karah made no mistake at the start of the third race and got the better of Paul to take the Class A lead around mid-race distance. She then opened a gap of two seconds to take her second Class A race win of the season. Howell again finished in sixth.
In the overall standings, Arangies took the overall and GT3 class wins from du Toit and Hammond. Paul Hill took Class A from Karah, while Howell took Class B.
The Extreme SuperCars driven by Dunlop drivers have a short winter break before they head back to Aldo Scribante for the fourth round of their 2026 championship, which takes place on 7 & 8 August.
