A new era begins for Extreme SuperCars at Zwartkops International World of Motoring on 26 and 27 January 2024, when the drivers will have their first competitive outing using the new Dunlop D20 Full Slick tyres that are now the control tyre for the series.

The opening round of the 2024 championship, which forms part of the annual Passion for Speed, will see a very competitive field challenging for both the Extreme SuperCars Championship and the Extreme SuperCar GT Sprint crown.

2023 Class A+ Champion Franco Scribante

Defending Class A+ Champion and 2023 overall championship runner-up, Franco Scribante (Scribante Racing Porsche 997) is likely to be back at the head of the field, although Jonathan du Toit (Trans Africa Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO) will be doing his best to prevent the Porsche claiming a brace of wins. Xolile Letlaka (Into Africa Racing / Wurth SA Aston Martin Vantage) and Aldo Scribante (Scribante Concrete Lamborghini Huracan) will also be in the Class A+ mix.

Gianni Giannoccaro (Stradale Motorsport / BISC Transport Nismo GTR GT3) and Silvio Scribante (Cemza & Scibante Concrete Lamborghini Huracan) will do battle in the GT3 class, while Ben Morgenrood (Ben Mogenrood Ford Mustang) and Ricky Giannoccaro (ITRE Cugini Logistics Lamborghini Huracan) will fight it out for Class A honours.

Ant Blunden (SAJCO / GSP CV Joints Porsche 991 GT3 Cup) will be joined in Class B by Mark du Toit in his Trans Africa Racing Ferrari 430 and Peter Zeelie (Zeelie Auditors Lotus Exige).

In the Extreme SuperCar GT Sprint Championship, which is for GT3 spec or similar cars, the fight is likely to be between Jonathan du Toit and Letlaka, although Gianni Giannoccaro will be looking to go one better than his runners-up spot in the 2023 Championship. Gqeberha-based Aldo and Silvio Scribante are also capable of mounting a serious challenge.

After a couple of practice sessions on Friday morning, the drivers will get down to the serious business of qualifying at 14h35. The first of Saturday’s two 15-lap races is scheduled to get underway at 09h15, with the second at 14h15.

Spectator tickets can be purchased from Computicket and The Zwartkops International World of Motoring entrance. Saturday’s full race programme will also be broadcast live on the Extreme SuperCars – Driven by Dunlop Facebook page and 2WheelsTV YouTube channel.
