Round four of the 2024 Extreme SuperCars driven by Dunlop championship takes place at Zwartkops Raceway, west of Pretoria, on 17 and 18 May. The event will see a slightly revised format, with the drivers tackling two slightly longer races of 15 laps each.
In the absence of Franco Scribante, the competition is fierce. Stuart White (Into Africa Racing / Sparco / Wurth SA Lamborghini Huracan), who dominated the last round with two wins, is a strong contender. His closest competition in the unrestricted Class A+ is likely to come from teammate Xolile Letlaka in the second Into Africa Racing / Sparco / Wurth SA Lamborghini Huracan, with Marius Jackson (MJR Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT3) also vying for class honours.
Jonathan du Toit (Trans Africa Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO) and Arnold Neveling (GOSCOR Lift Trucks / Bobcat Audi R8 LMS GT3) are at the top of both the overall and GT3 class standings and will resume their season-long battle. They will be joined by 2023 GT3 champion Charl Arangies (Stradale Motorsport Mercedes AMG GT3) and Silvo Scribante (Cemza & Scribante Concrete Lamborghini Huracan), who had a slightly disappointing event at Kyalami. Consistent points-paying finishes have given Gianni Giannoccaro (Stradale Motorsport / BISC Transport Nismo GTR GT3) fourth place on the GT3 table, and he will look to improve that.
Mark du Toit (Lamborghini Gallardo), Ant Blunden (G&H Transport / SAJCO Porsche 997) and Jimmy Giannoccaro (G&H Transport / SAJCO Audi R8 GT4 LMS) will all be looking to add to their points tallies.
Practice sessions on Friday will allow the drivers to iron out the kinks before heading out for the qualifying session at 08h20 on Saturday. The two races are scheduled for 10h55 and 14h25.
